Nine New Sex Abuse Lawsuits To Be Filed Against 5 Priests and 1 Nun

Accuses Church Leaders Of Fraud, Intimidation and Manipulation
Catholic School Students & Altar Boys Molested In 5 Illinois Towns


What:
At a news conference in front of the Peoria Catholic diocesan headquarters, clergy molestation victims will disclose and discuss several new civil child sexual abuse lawsuits being filed today. Copies of the pleadings for all nine cases will be distributed.

When:
TODAY, Wednesday, November 30, at 1:30 p.m.

Where:
On the sidewalk in front of the chancery of the Diocese of Peoria, 607 NE Madison Avenue in Peoria  

Who:
Two or three victims of sex abuse including one of the nine victims filing charges today and a Chicago woman who heads a national victims support group called SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAPnetwork.org)

At least one victim will have childhood photos himself at the age of his abuse, photos of some of the other victims and at least photo of one of the perpetrator priests.

Details:
All of the victims filing charges have been involved in negotiations with Peoria Catholic officials which have broken down.  They hope that by filing lawsuits and exposing the perpetrators other innocent children will be kept safe. Parents, neighbors, employers and others will now be warned about each of the six sexual predators.

The lawsuits allege that the victims were abused beginning as early as 1960.

Victims were as young as age 6 and as old as 18.

Most of the abuse took place before 1980 and included: Nudity, fondling, masturbation, pornography, oral stimulation, rape, groping and physical abuse.  

Those being accused of sexually abusing children include: Father Walter A. Breuning, Father Norman Goodman, Father Toussain J. Perron, Father Edward Bush and Sister Mary Jane.
